What does Archive mean iCloud?

You can quickly move selected email messages from your Inbox to the Archive folder so you can read them at a later date. Unlike email messages you move to the Trash, archived email messages remain in your Archive folder until you delete them.

How do I restore an iCloud archive?

In Settings on iCloud.com, click Restore Files (in the Advanced section). Select each file you want to restore, or select Select All. Click Restore.

What is the difference between iCloud and iCloud Drive?

iCloud Backup: It’s used for all the iPad, iPhone and iPod backups you’ve made without using iTunes. iCloud Drive: This is for all your documents and data from third-party apps on Macs and iOS devices that store data in the cloud.

Does iCloud Drive delete files?

You can delete files you no longer want to store in iCloud Drive. Important: When you delete a file from iCloud Drive on iCloud.com, it’s also deleted from all your devices that have iCloud Drive turned on.

Where does archived Mail go in iCloud?

A mailbox labeled “Archive” will appear under each account that supports archived email. Each section on the “Mailboxes” page is labeled with an account name, such as “iCloud.” Scroll down and tap Archive under each account to view all of your archived emails.

Does iCloud keep old versions of files?

Pages for iCloud periodically saves versions of your document. If you want to return to a previous version (for example, because you deleted content you decide you still need), you can restore an earlier version.

Why do I need iCloud Drive?

With iCloud Drive, you can keep files and folders up to date across all of your devices, share files and folders with friends, family, or colleagues, and more. You can store files* in iCloud Drive as long as they’re 50GB or less in size and you don’t exceed your iCloud storage limit.

How do I see what is in my iCloud storage?

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. The bar graph shows your overall storage usage. Tap Manage Account Storage or Manage Storage for more details. Below the graph, you see a list of apps and features and how much iCloud storage they use.

Why is iCloud Drive taking up space on my iPhone?

It’s normal for files stored on iCloud to take up space on your iPhone. iCloud is not an “online-only storage service” in the sense that you upload files to it and they’re kept strictly in the cloud.

Can I delete photos from iPhone and keep on iCloud?

When you delete a photo or video from the Photos app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, it also deletes from your iCloud Photos and any other devices where you’re signed in to iCloud Photos.

What happens if I turn iCloud Drive off on my iPhone?

When you turn it off, the app will no longer connect with iCloud, so your data will exist only on your device. You can choose which apps on your device you’d like to use iCloud, or turn off iCloud completely.

How do I stop iCloud Drive from taking up space on my iPhone?

To get rid of these files, open up iCloud from the Settings app (iOS) or System Preferences app (MacOS). Then click or tap Manage Backups to see all of the backups that are currently saved to your iCloud account. Delete the ones you don’t need any longer, and you’ll instantly free up storage space.

Why are my photos taking up storage when I have iCloud?

Even when your photos are stored in iCloud, the Photo app will still have a low resolution version of the image on the iPhone so that you can see what photos you have in the cloud. These images are quite small, but will still consume space on your iPhone.

Do photos stay on iCloud forever?

When you delete a photo or video from Photos on iCloud.com, it’s also deleted from all your devices that have iCloud Photos turned on. If you change your mind, you have 30 days to recover it before it’s permanently removed.

Is it a good idea to store photos in iCloud?

This isn’t the proper or ideal way to back up photos, however. Nor is it a long-term solution: Apple will actually delete your files from its cloud 180 days after you turn off iCloud backup, so be aware of that.

Will iCloud delete my photos if I don’t pay?

After the 30-day grace period, you will lose access to all your files stored in iCloud and will no longer be able to download or view them. iCloud photo library will not save new photos and videos that you take as all your devices using the same Apple ID will stop backing up to iCloud.
